Artista escénica formada como actriz en la Universidad de Chile y MA Devised Theatre en Dartington College of Arts, UK. Paula se ha dedicado a la dirección escénica y docencia universitaria por más de 20 años. Su investigación artística está enfocada en la evidenciación de la copresencia entre audiencias, artistas, espacios y contextos específicos, sobre la cual ha dirigido más de 20 proyectos. Generar acciones de relación y mediación con la audiencia, la inclusión de la ciudadanía dentro de los procesos creativos,  el desarrollo de dramaturgias que incluyen los contextos espaciales /territoriales /sociales y las biografías de los elencos -profesionales o ciudadanos- son algunas de las estrategias que Paula propone para desarrollar su investigación como práctica artística. En sus obras se plantea la exploración en espacios no convencionales (urbanos o rurales) como una un acto de relectura y como una invitación a re-habitar espacios colectivos que pueden pasar desapercibidos en el día a día. Sus obras han sido montadas tanto en Chile como en el extranjero, en salones de edificios patrimoniales como museos o correos, en parques, en fábricas abandonadas, en paisajes rurales, entre otros. También ha presentado proyectos en teatros, entendiendo el edificio teatral como un espacio público, incluyendo la propia arquitectura o historia del edificio teatral dentro de la propuesta. Actualmente se desempeña como académica a cargo del área de creación artística de la Escuela de Teatro en la Universidad Mayor, Chile, donde fue directora de Escuela por 3 años.

Performing artist trained as an actress at the University of Chile and MA Devised Theatre at Dartington College of Arts, UK. Paula has been involved in stage direction and university teaching for over 20 years. Her artistic research focuses on highlighting the co-presence between audiences, artists, spaces and specific contexts, on which she has directed more than 20 projects. Generating actions of relationship and mediation with the audience, the inclusion of citizens in creative processes, the development of dramaturgies that include spatial/territorial/social contexts and the biographies of the casts -professionals or citizens- are some of the strategies that Paula proposes to develop her research as an artistic practice. Her works explore unconventional spaces (urban or rural) as an act of re-reading and as an invitation to re-inhabit collective spaces that may go unnoticed in everyday life. Her works have been staged both in Chile and abroad, in halls of heritage buildings such as museums or post offices, in parks, in abandoned factories, in rural landscapes, among others. She has also presented projects in theatres, understanding the theatre building as a public space, including the architecture or history of the theatre building itself within the proposal. She currently works as an academic in charge of artistic creation at the Theatre School of the Universidad Mayor in Chile, where she was director of the school for three years.
